School students protest outside AAP office over transfer of

first_imgprincipalNew Delhi, Aug 22 (PTI) Students of Delhi government run Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalala today staged protest outside the Aam Aadmi Party office here over “abrupt” transfer of their school principal.Students, donning school uniform, and their parents were sitting outside the party office said they were protesting because principal Rajeshwari Kapri was shunted out at a time when she was doing a good job.Altamash Khan, a student of Class XII, said ever since the principal joined the school, she brought major changes in the school, which were yielding positive results.”She encouraged us to participate in sport and cultural activities and give our best to it, but on the other hand, she also ensured that we dont let our studies hamper because of it.”We dont want her to be transferred,” added Hyder Ali, another student of the school, who was staging a dharna along with Class XII.Another student Khsitij of Class X said the student were upset because the the principal was shunted out despite her “good work”.”She had not even completed two years,” Kshitij claimed.Students also alleged that her transfer order came on August 20 and she was asked to report to her new assignment on August 22, which is today.”Girls can only study up to Class V in this (SBV, Rouse Avenue) school. The principal was also working to have girls education till Class XII,” said Rehana Khan, who claimed that she was a mother of one Mohammad Bilal, a student of Class XII.advertisementOther parents were also seen gathering outside the party office.However, when asked why were they not protesting outside the residence of Education Minister Manish Sisodia or the Directorate of Education, they were unable to given any answer.When contacted the Directorate of Education of the Delhi government refused to comment.
