Lake Lois Park “Earth Day” Volunteer Opportunity

The “Earth Day” work party is scheduled forSunday, April 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The park is located at 6020 7th Ave SE, Lacey.Volunteers may park at the rear of the Safeway store, 6200 Pacific Ave SE in Lacey, near theloading dock.Individuals, families, and groups are welcome (volunteers under the age of 14 must beaccompanied by an adult). To encourage teen participation, Alpine Experience, an outdoorequipment store located in dowtown Olympia, has challenged each high school in ThurstonCounty. The high school with the most volunteers will earn $500 for their Associated StudentBody (ASB). Additionally, each student that registers by April 16, 2012, and volunteers onEarth Day will receive a free t-shirt at the event!All volunteers should bring a water bottle and wear weather-appropriate outdoor clothing, work gloves, sturdy shoes or boots, and rain gear if necessary.
